With the recent change in provincial government, there are new points of contact for the various departments that impact people with disability, as well as information about accessibility.
To help you navigate these changes, we've collated all the relevant information you need below.
Raymond Cho, Minister of Seniors and Accessibility
This office develops and delivers public services to seniors to improve their quality of life so they can be safe, engaged, active and healthy. It also helps to make Ontario more accessible, by implementing the Accessibility for Ontarians with Disabilities Act (AODA) and by preventing barriers for people with disabilities.
As part of this change, AODA will now fall under the Ministry of Seniors and Accessibility, while Accessibility Directorate information will also be available through this office.
Merrilee Fullerton, Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities
Formerly the Ministry of Advanced Education and Skill Development (MAESD), the new office will be known as the Ministry of Training, Colleges, and Universities. Like the previous MAESD, this offices helps Ontarians get the education and training needed to build a rewarding career. Employment Ontario falls within this office, as does Supported Employment currently.
Laurie Scott, Minister of Labour
The ministry works to prevent workplace injuries and illnesses, promotes and enforces employment standards, and helps settle workplace disputes and collective agreements in Ontario.
Lisa MacLeod, Minister of Children, Community and Social Services and Minister
